“If there is anything I can share from my experience to inspire other women who have a similar dream of sailing and are worried about the money, the time or if they can even do it. I say to them, “Just pull out the stops and just do it.” You can wait on the dream forever and then you could miss out on all this fun. Sailing is so exciting; you can become so passionate about the experience and build confidence at the same time. Sailing is also adventurous and thrilling. Even the most boring day can be the most exciting day…my husband and I go to our boat “Happiness is…”and just sit and enjoy the time together. This is a heavenly feeling. Or we go sailing, crabbing, being with family and friends.

After over 30 years of thinking about my dream and creating all the reasons why I could not have it, I finally made the commitment and took the steps to realize my dream. Since I made this decision my life has entered into another realm. My confidence level has soared since taking the 7- day HERIZEN™ sailing retreat and has improved my sailing, my career, my relationship with husband and children as well as friends and people I do not even know. They have all noticed the difference. The people that I have met since taking the course are wonderful. They are all amazing and we have such great times together. My circle of friends has now expanded and I have attracted a female crew. My daughter loves to have me visit her after I have gone sailing for the day because she told me that I look like a different person. She says, my eyes are greener, my skin is healthy looking, my hair is flipped up, and I have a smile and a glow that she loves to see.

The money will always be there, you can always find the time. You can second guess yourself or what if yourself to death. You just have to make the commitment. Once you make that commitment everything will happen, honestly, it does. Everything flows! Pull out the stops and never look back.

We had an awesome response to the question: If you could, where would you go on a tropical sailing vacation? British Virgin Islands, Baja, Mexico, Tonga and Belize were the choices. The majority of readers said the British Virgin Islands (BVI) with the Sea of Cortez, Baja Mexico a second. Thank you to all that submitted their feedback. How exciting to dream and make it happen!

Our focus is to support you in fulfilling your dreams through sailing. We have secured a boat and dates for sailing in the British Virgin Islands for next February and March 2007. BOATING IN AWARENESS SAFETY TIPS

Spring is here and it is time to get ready for the boating season.

Are you a consciously aware and environmentally friendly sailor?

You can do your part to support the balance of the ocean, rivers and inland waterways.

Here's how - a few tips:

Keep a supply of oil-absorbant rags on board, keep used solvents separate from used oil, wax your boat, wash topsides only and use toxic free cleaners.

Always select the proper equipment, maintain it and follow careful procedures. Get training if you need it.
