What other HERIZEN™ Adventure Women have to say:

I've been tallying up my achievements and celebrating them daily. I've been doing better with my ex. I remember the Tibetan 5 movements and the 5 points of posture plus the many positive supportive messages from you and the others - I miss you all ...It was such a good time - I learned way more with HERIZEN™ Sailing than in the RYA certification course I did at Gibraltar a few years ago, just by seeing how thoroughly you prepared for the voyage, the calm way you handled the various situations we were faced with, and how patient and methodical you were in bringing everybody along on understanding how everything works on a sailboat." Karole Pittman- Newfoundland

"My highlight was the Belize Sailing trip it was a lot of fun. The scenery is beautiful & the snorkeling fun (especially at that island we visited twice). This 'rookie' enjoyed every minute of it. Your competence & confidence shone throughout the whole week and I had the utmost trust that everything would turn out well no matter what the situation.  I really enjoyed the sailing experience and the way that you taught; no boring lectures, just a hands on experience with coherent and useful information explaining the 'why's'. I particularly liked the way that you made sure that everyone got their turn. It's so amazing how well the women got along and how we bonded that week. You were great in handling people,  knowing how to mitigate any personality 'sharp points'  and encourage people to try their best. All in all, I'm so looking forward to my next sailing trip. Hope the dolphins join us as they did that last day sailing in Belize!"Paula Romanin - Toronto

A TASTE OF HEALTH - COOKING AFLOAT & SAILING THE FARM

All of our training and adventure programs have food included unless noted. It is a grand affair to witness what transpires in the galley. The boat is usually provisioned and we all take part in cooking, cleaning, crewing and skipper the boat. The food that comes out of the galley is incredible. More women today are becoming more aware of healthy eating habits and ways to prepare food that is nurturing and wholesome.

Here is a fantastic Ayurveda health tip for your boat, body and spirit

Originating in India more than 5,000 years ago, Ayurveda is the oldest system of healing. It means "life knowledge".

Sesame Oil - I use this oil to cook with on the boat and also to lubricate and free up anything on the boat...locks, blocks, gooseneck, etc....wow it really works. I also use it for my body too- see how -

Sesame Oil: Revered in Ayurveda For Its Healing Properties

Sesame oil, called "til" oil in Sanskrit, has reportedly been known since Vedic times. The ancient ayurvedic scholar Charaka, in his well-known treatise on ayurveda, claims that is the best of all oils. Sesame oil is the traditional oil of choice for abhyanga, the daily ayurvedic self-massage. It is rich in linoleic acid, and has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

It is very nourishing, and prevents the skin from getting excessively dry. Sesame oil massaged into the scalp once a week is an excellent way to nourish the scalp and restore the natural balance and luster of hair.

Sesame oil can be a very versatile ally in your efforts toward better health.

Here are three ways to use it:

a) Try sniffing it (nasya) to lubricate and protect your nose and sinuses, which are the ventilation systems for your brain. The oil helps clear mucous out of the sinuses. Just dip your little finger in the sesame oil you use for your massage and rub the oil inside of each nostril. Then pinch and release your nostrils rapidly while inhaling sharply.

b) Gargle with it for two minutes. Swish a mouthful of it, then spit it into the toilet and rinse your mouth out with warm water. It feels great, draws out mucous and has been shown to increase gum strength, tarter free.

c) Best of all, massage it all over your body to release skin impurities, then bathe or shower with warm water. If you have time, a warm tub bath increases circulation and is a means of further purification.

Use only the best - spectrum is awesome!
