LADIES DID YOU KNOW?

IT IS NOW THE LAW IN CANADA

As of September 15, 2009 all boaters will be required to have the Pleasure Craft Operator Card in order to operate a powered watercraft. There is no grandfather clause or age exemption - this law applies to all boaters. All boaters from outside Canada are required to have this card if you plan to operate within Canada for more than 45 consecutive days or your boat is located in Canada, registered and or you plan to charter a Canadian boat. We offer the course and exams during all of sailing programs. Ask us for details.

A TASTE OF HEALTH - COOKING AFLOAT & SAILING THE FARM

All of our training and adventure programs have food included unless noted. It is a grand affair to witness what transpires in the galley. The boat is usually provisioned and we all take part in cooking, cleaning, crewing and skipper the boat. The food that comes out of the galley is incredible. Women today are becoming more aware of healthy eating habits and ways to prepare food that is nurturing and wholesome.

With all that summer fun, traveling and visiting it is now time to be more aware of grounding our energy to mother earth. As the weather changes our body contracts.

To allow for this seasonal transformation we can expand our awareness in this area of grounding. Being mindful of what we think, what we say and what we do. I like to keep my words positive and use affirmations - an example...

|I am stable, safe and secure" or "I am rooted in life and in myself" - experiment and find what is best for you.

At this time of year I love to warm up with wonderful grounding foods such as soups - try one of my favorite at home or the boat.

And what do I do: I start by creating my travel plans for warmer climates. Where there is sun, sand, fresh air, good sailing, swimming and friendly people.

Bear Paw Falls - Toba Inlet near Desolation Sound, August 2009

It has been a fantastic summer here in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia. I have been fortunate to sail on Voyager. Thank you to Wilf and Raija Williams for having faith in me. I also appreciate all of the women that stepped over the threshold of courage and committed to one of our sailing adventures. I really enjoyed each of you. Thank you also for the gifts along the way. Now is the time that I prepare for my journey to Baja. I will now leave Canada the beginning of October and return to next June. My daughter arrived from Australia and we plan to surf our way down the coast. Check out the blog for updates. www.herizen.blogspot.com

We plan to sail around Vancouver Island next summer over a 23 day period. It will be broken into 3 legs of 7 days each. You can take the whole trip or just one leg. A great time to upgrade to Intermediate or Advanced Levels. Details soon...or write and let me know of your interest for a name of the list.
